Talia Levitt
Talia Levitt (b.1989) is an American painter living and working in Brooklyn, who studied at The Rhode Island School of Design, RI and Hunter College, NY. Levitt’s paintings depict a collection of imagery which span subject matter relating to her family history in the New York garment industry, art history and quotidian objects. They are scattered on the surface of the canvas like reflections, or patchwork. Levitt employs clever painterly techniques to give the impression of a quilted surface. These images dynamically open countless interpretations and invite the viewers to narrate them into imagined contemporary stories, with the artist as a main character.
